The Larder Cupboard. Chalk
£ 17,200
A versatile, freestanding larder cupboard. Closed. A minimalist monolith. Open. Maximum impact.
Designed by Inglis Hall for Jay Osgerby, as seen in the Financial Times.
Originally a pair of utilitarian cabinets, made to bring absolute order to our tool collection - nothing more, we thought. How wrong we were. It was Jay Osgerby who recognised their potential, keen to include them in his new Inglis Hall kitchen. Something simple, long absorbed into the fabric of the workshop, suddenly seen anew.
Reimagined for domestic life by our product designer, Jules, the proportions are refined, the materials elevated, the interior made effortlessly adaptable. What remains is its spirit - unchanged. A cupboard that serves, above all else.
Its defining gesture lies in its transformation. Doors closed, it is composed and architectural. Opened fully, it becomes something else entirely: a place to display. An understated and organic way to decorate your home.
Materials can be chosen too. Osgerby’s desire for the wild grain of Douglas Fir led to these distinctive larch doors. Yet oak or walnut would be equally alluring.
Handmade freestanding kitchen furniture, adaptable not only in function, but in character.
Inglis Hall products are handmade to a very high quality, mostly to order, in our Sussex workshops or by our UK partners. This means that some items can take up to 12 weeks to produce and arrive with you. We always endeavour to deliver more quickly whenever we can, and some smaller items and products that are held in stock will arrive much faster.
