Our favourite cinematic scenes are located around the dinner table. Italian family dramas, English period classics, urbane New York razor sharp comedy. All will deploy the characters gathered around a vast table as a critical scene.
Often a client will have an heirloom table that they wish to keep and design a kitchen around. It provides a potent starting point of aesthetic and philosophic exploration.
And sometimes there is no existing table. Only a space, both physical and notional, that requires a perfect table.
