    IHP.227.The Jacket.Fergus

    Size

Another item which originated as kit for our team. An ancient French work jacket in final disintegration which became the basic pattern. A Tin cloth, again, from British Millerain.

Because detail is everything to some people.

The buttons are by Courtney & Co. One of the very few remaining English manufacturers of buttons. A critical button needs an appropriate button hole.

The Reece 101 is an early 20th century machine which remains the finest facilitator of button holes. A maker in Eastbourne still uses these machines to execute the perfect button hole.

Indestructible outerwear that is cut sufficiently to layer over a heavy shirt or sweatshirt and base layer. But not excessively loose to become a hindrance whilst working (Carpentry has its dangers) Enough pockets to hold the necessary but not to become a walking rubbish tip.

A jacket to get through a demanding days work.

    And then.

A piece of clothing that can be brushed off at the end of the task and be suitable to meet for an informal dinner or a drink with a friend. Or a date.

It’s your jacket, it’s your business.

    Why FERGUS?

    Long story.

Inglis Hall products are handmade to a very high quality, mostly to order, in our Sussex workshops or by our UK partners. This means that some items can take up to 12 weeks to produce and arrive with you. We always endeavour to deliver more quickly whenever we can, and some smaller items and products that are held in stock will arrive much faster.
