The Bench. Rift

A seat for all reasons.

Our bench - or Rift as it has become known - is made for gatherings. For friends united round the dining table, slide along and squeeze in a small one. Or for tugging on wellies in boot-rooms and hallways, before stomping off in search of Heffalump’s. The height, perfect for souping and booting. Standard lengths from 120-220cm - accommodates at least two to four intrepid hunters.

Solid Oak jointed construction. We endeavour to hand-select all components from a single tree - a simple element of traditional craft, and an age-old method of elevating furniture - a considered, thoughtful approach to kitchen design, kitchen seating and modern craft. Turned legs, a baby sister to our bottling table leg, a functional seat gap and flush joins between leg and rail. A shadow gap that just lifts the design. Thoughtful details.

Comfort counts. We added a seat pad in Old English Bruciato leather. Buttery soft, and ready to be marked with life’s memories. A real material that ages with you. The underside hides a satisfying, practical fixing method, with thick yellow herringbone cotton twill ribbon and octagonal dowels.
