This contemporary side extension transforms the rear of this charming Victorian terrace in Fiveways, Brighton.
Fiveways is just outside central Brighton, so you’re close enough to the action but far enough for a bit of peace. With great schools, spacious houses, and beautiful parks, it’s no wonder families love it here.
It’s got that village vibe too. Think traditional greengrocers, a butcher, a deli, and plenty of green spaces like Blakers Park, Preston Park, and even access to the South Downs via Ditchling Road. It’s the best of both worlds.
For this family, the goal was clear - they wanted a bright, open kitchen and dining space that connected seamlessly to the garden.
Working closely with the clients, Inglis Hall designed a space that’s not only stylish but also perfect for their love of cooking. There’s plenty of clear workspace for food prep and a central island with a hob, so they can cook and entertain at the same time.
The materials are simple yet sophisticated. The kitchen island is crafted from Fumed Oak with brass edge-pull handles, topped with Caesarstone Cloudburst Concrete quartz. The sink run cabinetry is finished in Bianco Male Fenix with matching brass handles and a Bianco Venatino quartz countertop. The sink? A sleek Blanco design, paired with a Quooker hot tap for ultimate convenience.
Fisher & Paykel appliances complete the look, ensuring the kitchen is as functional as it is beautiful.
This once-awkward layout is now a bright, open, and inviting space that flows effortlessly into the garden—a perfect blend of style and practicality.
